SC OSHA LogoLast week, Carolinas Associated General Contractors and SC OSHA formed an Alliance whereby they will use their collective expertise to further promote safe and healthy worksites.

“Nothing is more important in the construction industry than safety, and this Alliance will help greatly in keeping occupational hazards as low as possible,” CAGC President and CEO Dave Simpson said.

As part of the Alliance, SC OSHA and CAGC agree to promote safe and healthful working conditions
by:

  • Providing the Carolinas AGC employees/members with information and guidance that will help them protect employees' health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing exposure to recognized occupational hazards.
  • Providing SC OSHA employees with information and training on the industry's best practices.
  • Increasing access to safety and health training resources.

“This Alliance shows the commitment of SC OSHA and the Carolinas AGC to providing employees with safe and healthy worksites,” LLR Director Emily Farr said. “We appreciate the opportunity to work with Carolinas AGC and look forward to all that we can accomplish together.”

South Carolina OSHA Alliances provide parties an opportunity to participate in a voluntary cooperative relationship with SC OSHA for purposes such as training and education, outreach and communication and promoting a national dialogue on workplace safety and health. Alliances have proved to be valuable tools for both SC OSHA and its Alliance participants.
