Construction Inclusion Week 2024

Construction Inclusion Week 2024 will be held from October 14-18, 2023. It is an industry-wide initiative to raise awareness of the need to improve diversity and inclusion in the construction industry. The week is organized by Construction Inclusion Week, a 501(c)(6) organization that provides content and resources to help companies create more inclusive workplaces. The week will focus on helping companies create a culture where everyone feels valued and respected, and where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Each day of Construction Inclusion Week will have a different focus:
  • Monday, October 14: Commitment & Accountability
  • Tuesday, October 15: Belonging
  • Wednesday, October 16: Supplier Diversity
  • Thursday, October 17: Workplace Culture
  • Friday, October 18: Community Engagement

Companies can participate in Construction Inclusion Week by downloading the daily curriculum and planning activities around each day's theme.

Construction Inclusion Week is a great opportunity for companies to show their commitment to diversity and inclusion. It is also a time to learn more about the challenges and opportunities facing the construction industry as it works to become more inclusive.

Culture of Care

Culture of Care LogoAGC of America's Culture of CARE program is designed to help companies create a more welcoming and inclusive environment for all employees. CARE stands for commit, attract, retain and empower. Commit to hire and pay based on skill and experience regardless of age, disability status, ethnicity, gender identity, nationality, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation. Attract prospective employees by creating inclusive workplaces that are free from harassment, hazing and bullying. Retain high-performing employees by identifying and removing barriers to advancement. Empower every employee to promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Companies that commit to a culture of CARE aren't passively thinking about company culture, they are actively working to ensure that every employee — from the CEO to the laborer — has the opportunity to feel valued, respected, and heard. Get engaged by taking the Diversity & Inclusion Assessment and find out where your company stands. Or, take the company pledge and commit to a work environment that is free from harassment, hazing and bullying. Take action to ensure every employee at your company has the opportunity to reach their full potential by building a culture that is diverse, safe, welcoming and inclusive.
