Grant Funding to be Awarded For Coronavirus Pandemic Safety Measures in the Construction Industry

In September our Carolinas AGC Foundation received a $3.75 million grant from the NC General Assembly. The legislation provides that $3.0 million of the grant shall be awarded for coronavirus pandemic safety measures in the construction industry in the form of subgrants to businesses and non-profits with an office in NC. (The remaining $750k will be awarded to media organizations, non-profits and businesses in NC that can provide multi-lingual education, training and community outreach programs using various media to reach construction workers, including those who lack proficiency in the English language.)

Two Separate Grant Application Processes

There are two separate grant application processes. Both the $3.0 million grant application for pandemic related cleaning, supplies and equipment and the $750k Education Grant application for media outreach and community engagement are now closed.

Pandemic Mitigation Grant

The Pandemic Mitigation Grant Application Period has now ended.

The subgrants awarded from the $3.0 million grant – of which the maximum would be up to $100,000 - will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and must be used for eligible expenses to include screening and testing, PPE and job site sanitation, mental health support and other pandemic related safety gear for construction workers.  The grant may cover expenses for coronavirus-related health and safety measures incurred during the period from March 1, 2020 to December 30, 2020.  The CAGC Foundation is mandated to disburse all funds by December 30, 2020. The deadline for applying for this grant was 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28.
