NC Legislative Day Recap: A Powerful Showing for the Construction Industry

April 2, 2025

We had a strong turnout in Raleigh for our 2025 NC Legislative Day, and it couldn't have gone better.

CAGC members from across North Carolina showed up strong, making their voices heard on the issues that matter most—work zone safety, workforce development, regulatory reform, and infrastructure investment. It was a full afternoon of meaningful conversations and face time with lawmakers, where our members had the unique chance to speak directly with those shaping policy for our industry. In all, over 75 CAGC members and lawmakers/their staff participated.

We kicked things off with a legislative briefing from our lobbying team, then headed over to the Legislative Complex to meet with legislators and attend sessions. Our members made it clear: we care about the decisions being made in Raleigh, and we’re paying attention.

Later in the day, we gathered at the AIA/NC Building to hear updates from key state agency leaders like NCDOT Secretary Joey Hopkins, NC Labor Commissioner Luke Farley,  and Deputy Secretary Mark Edwards with the NC Department of Administration—folks who understand the challenges and priorities of our field. We wrapped up the day with a packed legislative reception at Gravy, where members had the opportunity to continue conversations with legislators in a more relaxed setting.

Thanks to everyone who joined us. Your engagement made a real impact, and events like this remind us why it’s so important to show up, speak up, and stand together as one voice for the Carolinas’ construction industry.
