A 90-minute webinar focused on the review of serious trenching and excavation events – what went wrong and lessons learned.
Presented in case study format, facts from events will be utilized throughout the session to dispel common myths as well as emphasize key takeaways for future safe work in excavations. Your host, Kimlee Lindgren, CHST, has decades of experience as an OSHA Training Institute instructor in California, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona, New England and the Midwest as well as a Cal/OSHA compliance officer. Kimlee has worked on over 50 fatality cases in her career including those in the excavations and trenches.
Kimlee will review multiple incidents including those she worked on personally as an investigator, consultant, or company representative. During this webinar, the following questions will be discussed:

Your Instructor
Kim Lindgren, CHST is a senior risk management trainer working in the Public Sector in Massachusetts. She has 43 years of experience in the safety and health profession. Prior to coming to Region 1 OTIEC, she served as the Construction Curriculum and Industry Director for the OTIEC in San Diego for 20 years. Her expertise is in construction and maritime with previous employment with construction managers, general contractors, specialty contractors, general industry, insurance companies and trade associations. Kim is also a former compliance officer for Cal/OSHA. She is a Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), and past president of the San Diego Chapter.
