Join us for our Quarterly Central Executive Luncheon, on November 18thAmy Hill.  Amy Hill with S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce (SCDEW) will give the keynote address on the Federal Bonding Program, which is an insurance program that helps employers confidently hire job seekers who are considered “at-risk.” 

Recently, South Carolina was awarded money through a Fidelity Bonding Grant. This grant, financed 100% with federal funds, is provided to support employers willing to hire employees who may be hard-to-place due to circumstances such as judicial involvement to include substance abuse. The bonds are typically issued for $5,000 of fidelity insurance coverage, for the first six months of employment at no cost to either the employer or the employee.

Amy will share more about this program and the Work Opportunity Tax Credit available to employers.

With 12 years of experience in the workforce field, Amy Hill is currently the statewide manager of both the Work Opportunity Tax Credit and the Federal Bonding programs for the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce. In addition to overseeing the metrics and standards, Hill is responsible for outreach and education to ensure employers understand how to fully utilize these incentives when hiring individuals with barriers to employment and to help jobseekers leverage these programs during their job search. Ms. Hill holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Limestone College, and she a background and expertise in human resources.
