If you missed the 2nd Annual Carolinas AGC Foundation Safety & Health/Human Resources (HR) Conference, you missed a great meeting focused solely on construction specific safety and HR issues. Over 100 attendees took-in presentations ranging from Davis-Bacon compliance, to achieving employee engagement in total safety performance.
The 3 day conference was held in Myrtle Beach, April 18-20, with agendas developed by the CAGC Safety and Heath, and Human Resources Committees. "We strive to present a conference agenda that addresses the most pressing issues facing the industry as related to human resources and safety," states Claudia Dodgen, CAGC Foundation Human Resources Committee Chair, and VP People Development and Employee Services with Crowder Construction.
The conference is set-up to accommodate safety and HR professionals who wish to attend presentations from both disciplines. The first day 1/2 is dedicated to safety presentations, followed by a day 1/2 of HR presentations. "This year's Conference was a great success and well received by all," states, Dan Hinson, CAGC Foundation Safety & Health Committee Chair and Safety Director, State Utility Contractors, "this event has proven to be a must for safety and HR professionals in the construction industry, providing us with up-to-date information and insights on the regulatory, compliance and workforce management issues we face every day.
