Networking OpportunitiesDistrict Meetings Carolinas AGC offers networking opportunities throughout the year in 12 local geographic areas around both states. These events range from very informal gatherings at local pubs, to sporting events (golf tournaments, clay shoots, hockey games, etc.), to more formal lunch and dinner meetings with local government officials. District meetings are not limited to only members located in the specific districts—members may (and should) attend any district meetings of their choosing. District Meetings are posted on the Calendar of Events as they are scheduled. If you don't see any in your area, you may contact the appropriate District staff for information on, or sponsorship opportunities for, upcoming meetings: North Carolina Membership Districts: South Carolina Membership Districts: Carolinas AGC Annual Convention The Carolinas AGC Annual Convention is the premier membership gathering of the year. Top executives of member firms (general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and service companies) attend. This top-notch event is held each January at first-rate resorts. The conference-style convention includes seminars, general session, golf & tennis tournaments, events for spouses, entertainment, and most importantly, excellent networking opportunities. Click here for more information on this year's convention or contact Natalie Bonanno at 704/372-1450 ext. 5240 or e-mail nbonnano@carolinasagc.org. Division Meetings Division meetings are held twice a year—once at the Annual Convention and then again in the Spring/Summer months. Division meetings offer the opportunity for members of each trade (Building, Highway-Heavy, Utility, and Subcontractors) to swap ideas with others from within your own area of expertise, while learning about trade-specific issues that affect your business. Division Meetings are posted on the Calendar of Events as they are scheduled. You may also contact the appropriate Division staff for additional information on, or sponsorship opportunities for, upcoming meetings:
Committee Meetings Carolinas AGC is run by our member contractors. As member partners you have the opportunity to chart the direction of your Association and the industry. From interests such as safety, human resources and education, to joint committees with architects, engineers and the DOTs, members have the opportunity to voice their opinions and make a difference in the construction industry. To get involved in a committee, contact the appropriate Carolinas AGC staff for the committee(s) of your interest. (Staff can be found on each committee listing) Click here for a list of committees. Individuals from member firms may volunteer at many of the CAGC events, such as golf tournaments or career fairs for example. Volunteering is an excellent way to get to know other members within the Association—and gain some company exposure at the same time. For volunteer opportunities visit the Calendar of Events and then contact the CAGC staff involved with the events that interest you. For questions call Lori Tharp 704/372-1450 ext. 5227 or e-mail ltharp@carolinasagc.org. Speakers Network - Speakers Network is a panel of individuals from member firms who have volunteered to share their knowledge with others in the industry in a dinner meeting, classroom seminar, informal discussion group or lunch roundtable.
