Mobile Crane Operations Level 2
- Site Conditions and Setup
Covers conditions and responsibilities relative to crane setup at a site, including assembly/disassembly clearance, transit, accessibility, ground stability, power line and weather hazard considerations.
- Communications
Covers the fundamentals of the communications process.
- Computer Aids/Operator Aids
Covers load moment indicators, anti-two-block devices, load indicators and other operator aids that are installed in cranes.
- Load Dynamics
Covers leverage and stability, operational quadrants, submerged lifts, non-centered lifts and other factors that affect stability.
- Machine Power Flow
Covers the various power systems that enable a crane to perform its work.
- Preventive Maintenance
Covers preventive maintenance and compliance inspections on a crane.
- Wire Rope
Covers the components of wire rope, wire rope inspection, load block inspection, sheeve inspection, proper installation of wire rope, maintenance guidelines and end-terminations of preparations.
