  Introduces the trainee to the abnormal operating conditions that can occur on a pipeline or in a pipeline facility.

• Basic Pipeline Hydraulics and Equipment
  Explains pipeline hydraulics safety, basic principles of hydraulic systems, hydraulic properties of petroleum products, pipeline design factors and basic pipeline equipment.

• Pipeline Communications
  Introduces the various channels of communication that must exist in pipeline operations, including internal communications with scheduling, operations, and maintenance, and external communications with contractors, the general public, regulatory agencies, and local, state and federal governments.
