Overview

The Carolinas AGC Utility Division is recognized as the voice of utility contractors in North and South Carolina. Whether representing utility contractors full time in the states' legislatures, on inter-industry committees, to other construction related organizations, municipal and county governments or providing training tools and services, we are unmatched in the construction industry in addressing matters important to utility contractors.

Membership in the CAGC Utility Division is considered a seal of approval, reflecting a member company's dedication to quality, professionalism and its access to information putting them on the cutting edge of construction trends and advances. Non-member companies seek projects, CAGC Utility Division member companies not only seek projects, they are sought after as well. CAGC Utility Division committees and task forces help define and plot the course of the utility construction industry. We bring utility contractors, owners and engineers together to develop and encourage methods, procedures and documents that will provide the highest quality of construction at the lowest cost, and to foster open, constructive communication.

Utility Division task forces guide the development of legislation, and procedures which address unfair risk allocation and the concerns of contractors working within our congested right-of-ways. All Division goals, projects, and legislative priorities are set by our members. CAGC Utility Division members also have full access to the divisions and services of Carolinas AGC and AGC of America. This puts the clout, power and prestige of being a member of the largest chapter of the nation's largest construction association at the disposal of our Utility Division members.

On the national level, The AGC of America Municipal & Utilities Division has the most effective staff of any utility trade association in the United States. National staff monitors all legislation before both houses of Congress and addresses each piece affecting utility contractors as prescribed by our membership. They stay abreast of industry trends and issues, insuring our members have access to the most up-to-date, concise information available.
