Carolinas AGC Membership = ARTBA Membership

All CAGC member firms who perform highway/road/transportation work are also automatically members of the national American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA). January 2011  marks the 60th anniversary of Carolinas AGC's affiliation with this sister organization.

ARTBA has an aggressive lobbying presence in Congress (as does AGC of America) that educates and advocates to  congressional representatives and their staff on transportation funding  needs and issues. ARTBA also advocates with the various federal agencies to seek reasonable ,responsible rules and regulations that cover industry business practices.

Although this relationship has been in place since 1951, it has recently been re-charged. CAGC has a director on the National Board filled by a CAGC Executive Committee member.  Your CAGC staff members work with not only national ARTBA representatives but also our state-level counterparts who generally are facing comparable issues and challenges as NC and SC. Your CAGC staff are now attending and participating in regional and national ARTBA events, just as ARTBA representatives are becoming involved in CAGC activities. In fact, the national ARTBA staff vice president Rich Juliano will be joining us at next week's 90th Annual Convention.
